Aloe Vera Slushie

This beverage is divine on a hot summer day and is high in antioxidants and electrolytes to reduce mitochondrial stress and keep you hydrated throughout the day. Aloe vera is rich in mucilage (that sticky, film like substance), which forms a protective, soothing coating over the intestinal lining, helping to reduce inflammation. This slushie is all-round rich in prebiotics, which feed the good bacteria in your gut, and ensure your digestive system is an abundant home for them to stay!

Avoid Aloe vera in pregnancy.

-       Pulp of 1-2 aloe vera leaves or 60-100mls of pure aloe vera juice pulp

-       1 cup of fruit, fresh or frozen (e.g., Strawberries, mango, raspberries)

-       Fresh mint leaves

-       1 lime, peeled

-       Ginger

-       Honey to sweeten

-       Collagen (optional, will thicken consistency to more smoothie-like)

-       Coconut water

-       Ice cubes

Blend all ingredients together and adjust the amount of coconut water & ice cubes to suit the thickness of slushie you prefer. Enjoy
